Meet Ashley Marie
A little about Ashley...
Ashley is a student at the University of Utah majoring in Broadcast Journalism. She holds an Associates Degree in Speech Communication.
Ashley has been giving presentations to help build girls self esteem for five years and has been honored to speak to an entire student body to fight bullying with Karl Malone. Speaking is one of her greatest passions as she has great desires to help every girl understand and see her worth.
Ashley's Story:
Ashley competed in 9 different pageants and never won one. It was a beautiful experience she is truly humbled and grateful for. Looking back, she realizes that winning a pageant was never her PURPOSE – it was a vehicle to take her to her purpose.
Ashley had low self-esteem before competing in pageants. She was extremely shy and I didn’t feel like she had much to offer. It was through the process of preparing to compete in pageants that she found herself. Ashley started to became really confident and excited about who she was as a person and what she had to offer the world. Pageants got her out of her comfort zone in an extreme way – she started to realize that she loved speaking to an audience because it was an opportunity to inspire others.
After this experience and the being given the opportunity to speak to many girls, she found her purpose, to empower girls to have strong self-esteem & confidence. Ashley just had to find her confidence first!
